The lovely Kate Moss walked in the Louis Vuitton Spring 2012 RTW show in a beautiful white, lace dress. I was also obsessed with the colored lace frocks  -I’ve learned that I am all over anything that comes in a variety of pastels and resembles cotton candy.

I had the pleasure of checking out the Gen Art Fresh Faces in Fashion SS12 show this past Friday as part of NYC Fashion Week. Gen Art has helped to launch the careers of several now-famous designers including Zac Posen, Philip Lim and Vena Cava.

Eleven women’s, men’s and accessory designers were featured and for me,  two collections really stood out. The first was Eighteenth, created by the young designer Alexa Galler. She creates new takes on the t-shirt (it IS possible) as well as clingy cotton dresses and skirts. She started Eighteenth due to a lack of inspiration while designing denim rhinestone shorts for tween girls at Walmart.

Everything on the runway I wanted to own – Eighteenth is super wearable and down to earth, just like Galler herself who seemed like a hilarious person. She mentioned that theme of the show was “I gained ten pounds, but grew ten inches”…serious LOLZ! See the Fall 2011 collection below.

The second stand-out collection was William Okpo, created by sisters Lizzy and Darlene Okpo. The label is named after their father, a fan of ironing and sharp dressing. The designs somehow managed to be be structured and bohemian and the sisters themselves are also incredibly cool with endless braids and stacks of bangles. Is it time to start pairing shorts with heavy fall sweaters? Hanneli seems to think so. Maybe the changing weather isn’t so bad!

Wackerhause RTW Spring/Summer 2012. Erm this is like my dream spring outfit. I have two pairs of pastel pink pants and am always on the hunt for more. And durrr, that shirt is awesome.
