Sweat Shop is a brand new cafe in Paris that features ten tables each equipped with its own sewing machine donated by Singer. Sweat Shop was started by designer, Sissi Holleis, and make-up artist, Martina Duss. The pair believe that self-mending and sewing are on the rise in the poor economy and that not everyone has access to a functioning sewing machine. At 6 euros per hour for a machine and with cake/coffee for 5 euro, Sweat Shop is the upscale approach to thrifting it.
